Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass, and Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. Each shim features clearly marked information including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is designed for applications where corrosion problems exist and has low magnetic permeability, along with excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The shim measures 6 inches wide by 100 inches long by 0.008 inches thick and is widely used in various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly beneficial for short run and prototype work, where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
