The Laminated Aluminum Shim is constructed from 1100 series aluminum, composition 1, type 1, class 2, and features a fully laminated design that allows for precise on-site adjustments. Users can peel off layers to achieve the required thickness, enhancing accuracy during installation. The Precision Brand® laminated shim is made through a process that employs pressure and resin/adhesive to bond multiple metal shims together, resulting in a rigid "one piece" product that functions akin to a solid metal sheet or plate. The layers can be easily removed with a pocket knife to reach the desired thickness, and the sheets may be cut, sawed, stamped, milled, or bored into virtually any shape. The bonding adhesive is engineered for optimal peeling, ensuring that there is no tearing or ripping of the layers, with the sheets maintaining uniformity from edge to edge.
