The Laminated Aluminum Shim is constructed from 1100 series aluminum, featuring a composition of 1, type 1, class 2, and is fully laminated for durability. This shim allows for on-site accuracy by enabling users to peel off layers to achieve the needed thickness. The Precision Brand® laminated shim utilizes pressure and a resin/adhesive to bond metal shims together, resulting in a rigid "one piece" item that functions similarly to a single solid metal sheet or plate. Users can easily remove layers by peeling with a pocket knife to reach the desired thickness, and the sheets can also be cut, sawed, stamped, milled, or bored into almost any configuration. The bonding adhesive ensures optimal peeling without tearing or ripping, and the sheets maintain uniformity from edge to edge, ensuring precise measurements and applications.
