Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass and is offered exclusively by Precision Brand® as Branded® shim. This shim features clear markings indicating the material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is particularly effective in applications where corrosion issues are present and has low magnetic permeability. Brass shim exhibits excellent forming qualities and may be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions are 150mm wide x 2.5m long x 0.30mm thick. It is widely utilized in various applications, including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, as well as short run and prototype work, among other industrial uses. This product is especially beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are paramount.
