Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass, with Precision Brand® being the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. The shim is clearly marked with essential information such as material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is particularly suitable for applications where corrosion resistance is necessary and features low magnetic permeability. The shim exhibits excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. Its dimensions are 150mm wide, 2.5m long, and 0.25mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, as well as for short run and prototype work. It is especially beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
