The Stainless Steel Shim is constructed from full hard, cold rolled, 300 series stainless steel and is the only Branded® shim available from Precision Brand®. Each shim clearly displays essential information, including material type, material thickness, and lot number, ensuring full traceability. It is highly regarded for its corrosion resistance, making it ideal for use in various environments such as conventional power plants, nuclear plants, oil and gas refineries, and desalination projects. The shim measures 6" wide by 50" long by 0.002" thick. It is extensively utilized in applications including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, as well as the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery. Additionally, it is effective for short-run and prototype work, particularly in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
