Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which includes essential information clearly marked on the shim, such as material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications where corrosion issues are a concern, featuring low magnetic permeability. It has excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The shim measures 6 inches wide by 100 inches long by 0.002 inches thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely utilized in various applications including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, motor and pump mounting, short run and prototype work, as well as a range of other industrial uses. It is particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
