Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass and is the only product offered by Precision Brand® that features Branded® shim. Each shim is clearly marked with essential information including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is designed for applications where corrosion is a concern, thanks to its low magnetic permeability. The shim exhibits excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. Dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 100" long by 0.025" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly utilized in various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and for mounting motors, pumps, and other machinery. It is particularly beneficial for short run and prototype work, as well as other industrial applications where material accuracy and cost-effectiveness are critical.
