Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass, and Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer branded® shim. The shim includes clear markings for material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is utilized in applications where corrosion problems exist, featuring low magnetic permeability and excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 18" long by 0.004" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely employed in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, as well as short run and prototype work, along with various other industrial applications. This product is especially advantageous for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
