Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which features clearly marked information on the shim itself, including material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is used in applications where corrosion problems exist and has low magnetic permeability. It possesses excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 12" wide by 120" long by 0.020" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely utilized in various applications, such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly beneficial for short run and prototype work, as well as a variety of other industrial uses, making it especially useful for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are vital.
