The assortment includes 6" wide by 50" long rolls containing one each of the following thicknesses: 0.001", 0.002", 0.003", and 0.005". The brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which clearly marks essential information directly on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is utilized in applications prone to corrosion, featuring low magnetic permeability and excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. It is widely used for tool and die set up, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery, as well as for short run and prototype work, among various other industrial applications. It is particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
