The Laminated Aluminum Shim is constructed from 1100 series aluminum, featuring Composition 1, Type 1, Class 2, and is fully laminated for enhanced durability. This shim allows for on-site accuracy by enabling users to peel off layers to achieve the needed thickness. The Precision Brand® laminated shim is manufactured through a process that combines pressure and a resin/adhesive to bond metal shims together, resulting in a rigid, one-piece item that functions as a single, solid metal sheet or plate. Users can easily remove layers by peeling with a pocket knife to reach the desired thickness, and the sheets can also be cut, sawed, stamped, milled, or bored into nearly any configuration. The bonding adhesive ensures smooth peeling without tearing or ripping, and the sheets are uniform from edge to edge, providing consistent performance across various applications.
