Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which features clearly marked information on the shim itself regarding material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. It is designed for applications where corrosion problems exist and has low magnetic permeability. The shim possesses excellent forming qualities, allowing it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. It measures 6" wide by 60" long by 0.006" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely utilized in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery. It is particularly advantageous for short run and prototype work, where material accuracy and economy are critical.
