Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which includes crucial information clearly marked on the shim such as material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is utilized in applications where corrosion problems exist, featuring low magnetic permeability and excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 60" long by 0.005" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly employed in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors, pumps, and various machines, as well as short run and prototype work, alongside a multitude of other industrial uses. It is particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are essential.
