The Stainless Steel Shim is made from full hard, cold rolled, 300 series stainless steel and is uniquely branded as Precision Brand® shim, which provides essential information directly on the shim, including material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is ideal for applications requiring corrosion resistance and is commonly used in conventional power plants, nuclear plants, oil and gas refineries, and desalination projects. The dimensions of the shim are 6 inches wide, 25 inches long, and 0.012 inches thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is versatile, suitable for tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors and pumps, short run and prototype work, along with various other industrial applications, making it particularly valuable for pilot production runs where accuracy and cost-effectiveness are critical.
