Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which features clear markings indicating material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is suitable for applications prone to corrosion and possesses low magnetic permeability, along with excellent forming qualities that allow for light drawing, blanking, or stamping. The dimensions of the shim are 6 inches wide by 60 inches long by 0.004 inches thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is extensively used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, as well as short run and prototype work, making it valuable for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
