Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which includes clear markings on the shim indicating material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications where corrosion problems exist, featuring low magnetic permeability and excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 60" long by 0.003" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely utilized in various applications, including tool and die set up, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors and pumps. It is particularly advantageous for short run and prototype work, especially in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
