The Steel Shim is made from a full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel. Precision Brand® stands out as the sole manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which provides all essential information clearly marked directly on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is engineered for applications demanding hardness, flatness, and accuracy, and can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. The dimensions are 150mm wide x 2.5m long with a thickness of 0.05mm. Precision Brand® shim stock is extensively utilized in various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other equipment, as well as short run and prototype work, along with a range of other industrial uses. It is particularly advantageous for pilot production runs where both material accuracy and economy are critical.
