The Steel Shim is constructed from full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel and is uniquely offered by Precision Brand® as Branded® shim. Each shim comes with essential information clearly marked, including material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy, and can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. It measures 150mm wide, 2.5m long, and 0.80mm thick, making it suitable for various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, machine assembly, repair and maintenance, as well as the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. The shim is particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material precision and cost-effectiveness are crucial.
