Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which has all necessary information clearly marked on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is utilized in applications where corrosion problems exist and features low magnetic permeability. It exhibits excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 6 inches wide by 60 inches long and 0.0015 inches thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely applied in various areas such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, as well as the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly advantageous for short run and prototype work, making it ideal for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are key considerations.
