Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. It features clear markings indicating material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications where corrosion is a concern and has low magnetic permeability. It possesses excellent forming qualities, allowing it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the brass shim are 6" wide by 60" long by 0.001" thick. It is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery, as well as short run and prototype work, making it versatile for various industrial applications. It is particularly advantageous for pilot production runs where material accuracy and cost-effectiveness are crucial.
