The assortment of 6" wide by 12" long sheets includes one each of the following thicknesses: 0.001", 0.0015", 0.002", 0.003", 0.004", 0.005", 0.006", 0.007", 0.008", 0.010", 0.012", and 0.015". Made from a full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel, the Steel shim by Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, providing clear markings for material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is ideal for applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy, and can be punched or sheared with minimum burring and distortion. It is widely utilized in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. Additionally, it is effective for short run and prototype work, particularly in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are paramount.
