Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass, and is the only offering from Precision Brand®, which is the sole manufacturer of Branded® shim. Each shim is clearly marked with essential information including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This product is particularly suitable for applications where corrosion issues are a concern, as it features low magnetic permeability. With excellent forming qualities, the shim can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. It measures 6 inches wide by 100 inches long by 0.015 inches thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly utilized in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery. It is also effective for short run and prototype work, making it valuable for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
