The Steel Shim is crafted from full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel, with Precision Brand® being the sole manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. Each shim contains essential information clearly marked, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This product is ideal for applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy, and can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. With dimensions of 150mm wide x 2.5m long and a thickness of 0.40mm, Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery, as well as in short run and prototype work. It is particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and cost-efficiency are critical.
