The Steel shim is made from a full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel, and Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim. Each shim is clearly marked with essential information, including material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is used in applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy, and can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. It measures 150mm wide x 2.5m long by 0.65mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly utilized in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is also suitable for short run and prototype work, as well as various other industrial applications.
