Steel shim is made from a full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, with all essential information clearly marked on the shim including material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is utilized in applications where hardness, flatness, and accuracy are required. The material can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. It measures 150mm wide x 2.5m long x 0.30mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely used in various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly beneficial for short runs and prototype work, along with a variety of other industrial uses, especially in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
