The Sof' Shoe® elastomer shim kit is designed to address angular soft foot alignment issues commonly found in motors, pumps, generators, turbines, and other plant machinery, providing a quick and effective solution. Made from a proprietary elastomer with unique flow and set characteristics, it features a Size A shim measuring 2" x 2" and a slot size of 5/8". Each shim is 0.020" thick and can compress to 0.0175", capable of absorbing up to 0.010" of angularity. The included tab facilitates safer shim placement, eliminating the need for hands to be placed under machinery during installation or removal. The precision-engineered design ensures that each shim maintains a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque while effectively absorbing nearly half of its thickness in angularity. Additionally, cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5" are also available. This product offers an economical alternative to more labor-intensive methods such as milling or rebuilding bases.
