The Precision Brand® Sof' Shoe® elastomer shims are designed to address angular soft foot alignment issues in various types of machinery such as motors, pumps, generators, and turbines. Made of a proprietary elastomer, these shims possess unique flow and set characteristics, allowing them to effectively fill irregular gaps. The size B shims measure 3" x 3" with a slot size of 7/8". Each shim is 0.020" thick and compresses to 0.0175", absorbing up to 0.010" of angularity, making shim placement easier and safer through the integrated tab feature that eliminates the need for hand placement under machinery during installation or removal. Furthermore, these shims feature a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque and are also available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5". The Sof' Shoe® shims provide an economical solution compared to methods such as milling the base, hand cutting graduated shims, or rebuilding the base with poured epoxy, while effectively extending the life of bearings and motors.
