The Sof' Shoe® elastomer shim kit is made of a proprietary elastomer that features unique flow and set characteristics specifically designed to fill irregular gaps, measuring Size A at 2" x 2" with a slot size of 5/8". Each shim is 0.045" thick, compressing to 0.040" and capable of absorbing up to 0.020" of angularity. The integrated tab facilitates easier and safer shim placement, eliminating the need for hand placement under machinery during installation or removal. This product effectively resolves angular soft foot alignment issues in motors, pumps, generators, turbines, and other plant machinery efficiently, enhancing bearing and motor life. Compared to traditional solutions like milling the base or foot, hand cutting graduated shims, or rebuilding bases with poured epoxy, the Sof' Shoe® shim presents a cost-effective alternative. Each shim exhibits a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque while being able to absorb angularity equivalent to nearly half of its thickness. Additionally, the product is available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5".
