The kit includes Blue Sof' Shoe® elastomer shims made of a proprietary material designed to fill irregular gaps effectively. Each shim is Size C, measuring 4" x 4", with a slot size of 1-1/4". The integrated tab allows for easier and safer shim placement, eliminating the need for hand placement under machinery during installation or removal. These shims are 0.020" thick, compressing to 0.0175", and can absorb up to 0.010" of angularity. The Precision Brand® Sof' Shoe® elastomer shims are engineered to solve angular soft foot alignment issues in motors, pumps, generators, turbines, and various plant machinery quickly and effectively. This product offers a cost-effective solution as it cures angular soft foot and extends the life of bearings and motors, serving as an alternative to more complex and costly methods like milling bases, hand cutting graduated shims, or replacing bases with poured epoxy. Each shim maintains a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque and can absorb nearly half its thickness in angularity. Optionally, the product is also available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5".
