The Sof' Shoe® elastomer shim kit is made of a proprietary elastomer with unique flow and set characteristics designed to fill irregular gaps. The shims are sized at 4" x 4" with a slot size of 1-1/4", and each shim is 0.045" thick, compressing to 0.040" and absorbing up to 0.020" of angularity. The tab feature facilitates easier and safer shim placement, eliminating the need for hands to be placed under machinery during installation or removal. This product effectively addresses angular soft foot alignment issues on motors, pumps, generators, turbines, and other plant machinery in minutes. The Sof' Shoe® shim not only cures angular soft foot but also extends the life of bearings and motors. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to more labor-intensive solutions such as milling the base or foot, hand cutting graduated shims, or rebuilding bases with poured epoxy. Each shim's thickness maintains a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque and can absorb nearly half its thickness in angularity. The product is also available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5".
