The Precision Brand® Sof' Shoe® elastomer shim is made of a proprietary elastomer designed to fill irregular gaps effectively. It measures Size D - 5" x 5" with a slot size of 1-5/8". The innovative tab feature facilitates shim placement while ensuring safety by eliminating the need to place hands under machinery during installation or removal. These blue Sof' Shoe® elastomer shims have a thickness of 0.020" and compress to 0.0175", allowing them to absorb up to 0.010" of angularity. This product provides a quick solution to angular soft foot alignment issues in various machinery, such as motors, pumps, generators, and turbines, enabling maintenance in minutes. The elastomer shims cure angular soft foot and extend the life of bearings and motors, serving as a cost-effective alternative to labor-intensive methods like milling the base, hand cutting graduated shims, or rebuilding bases with poured epoxy. Each shim maintains a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque while absorbing nearly half of its thickness in angularity. Additionally, the product is also available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5".
