The Precision Brand® Sof' Shoe® elastomer shim kit is designed to address angular soft foot alignment issues in various types of machinery such as motors, pumps, generators, and turbines, ensuring quick and effective solutions. Each shim is made of a proprietary elastomer that features unique flow and set characteristics, allowing it to fill irregular gaps. The kit includes size D shims measuring 5" x 5", with a slot size of 1-5/8", and each shim is 0.045" thick, compressing to 0.040" while absorbing up to 0.020" of angularity. The innovative tab design facilitates safer shim placement, eliminating the need for hands to be positioned under machinery during installation or removal. The Sof' Shoe® shims provide a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque and can absorb angularity up to nearly half of their thickness, effectively extending bearing and motor life. Additionally, the product is available in cut-to-length sheets with a width of 38.5".
