Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which features essential information clearly marked on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications where corrosion problems exist and has low magnetic permeability. It offers excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 100" long by 0.012" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly utilized in various applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly beneficial for short run and prototype work, making it ideal for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
