The Steel Shim is constructed from full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel, and Precision Brand® is the sole manufacturer offering Branded® shim. Each shim includes essential information such as material type, material thickness, and lot number for complete traceability. This shim is ideal for applications where hardness, flatness, and precision are critical. It can be easily punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. The dimensions of the shim are 150mm wide, 2.5m long, and 0.15mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock finds extensive use in various applications including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machinery. Additionally, it is suitable for short run and prototype work, particularly beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and cost-effectiveness are vital.
