The Haws® emergency valve for eyewash station, 12 GPM model 9201EFE (patent pending), is a thermostatic mixing valve designed to mix hot and cold water to supply tempered water at a rate of up to 12 GPM (45.4 L) for emergency eyewash fixtures. This unit features a paraffin-filled thermostatic mixing element, ensuring the lowest internal pressure drop when supply pressure is low, alongside a high cold water bypass flow rate of 10 GPM (37.8 L). The improved brass design includes a one-piece casting with internal check stops, oversized valve seats, a shuttle design that prevents valve binding, and a funnel design that enhances temperature control by improving mixing at low flow rates. Components are resistant to lime and calcium, ensuring durability. The factory setting for outlet temperature is 85 F (29 C) with a maximum operating pressure of 125 PSI (8.62 BAR). The temperature adjustment range is 60 - 90 F (16 - 35 C), with a minimum/maximum inlet hot water temperature of 120/180 F (49/82 C) and a recommended inlet temperature of 140 F (60 C). The minimum/maximum inlet cold water temperature ranges from 40 to 70 F (4.4 to 21.1 C). The inlet has a 1/2" NPT(F) connection, while the outlet features a 3/4" NPT(F) connection.
