The High Speed Steel TMX Spiral Point Ground Flute Hand Tap is designed for efficient threading and is available with a plug chamfer for a 3-5 thread length. It features a size of 3/8 - 16 H3 with a spiral point and a plug chamfer. This HSS TMX tap is ground with three flutes. The spiral point taps are specifically engineered to shoot chips forward, commonly referred to as gun taps. This forward chip ejection is ideal for through holes, as it minimizes double cutting of chips, resulting in clean and precise threads.
