The High Speed Steel Ground Threads TMX Fast Spiral Hand Tap is designed with straight flutes and is available in two chamfer styles: plug chamfer, which features a 3-5 thread chamfer length, and bottoming chamfer, with a 1-2 thread length. The tap is specifically a 1/4 - 20 H3 configuration, fast spiral, plug chamfer, made from HSS TMX material and ground for enhanced performance. The fast spiral design allows for efficient chip removal, moving the chip up the flute and away from the cut, which effectively reduces thread damage and the risk of double cutting chips. This tap is recommended for use with softer materials that produce a stringy type chip, ensuring a clean and effective tapping process.
