Our explosion-proof motors are ideally suited for hazardous environments, defined by the motor's explosion-proof class and group rating for use in applications that may contain explosive gases or materials. The motors are UL listed for frames 56-145T and 182T-445T, covering class 1 groups C & D and class 2 groups F & G (divisions 1 & 2). For frames 182T-256T and 364T-449T, the classifications are the same. The 250 HP motor is available in class 1 group D and class 2 groups F & G (divisions 1 & 2). The construction features steel frames and cast aluminum end brackets for sizes 56 - 145T, while frames 182T and larger utilize cast iron frames and end brackets. Inverter-rated designs are offered with a constant and variable torque speed range of 6 to 60 Hz (10:1), and the motors are nameplated for 190/380 volt, 50 Hz operation. They incorporate a premium class F insulation system and include an automatic reset thermal protector for models 56-145T or a thermostat for models 182T-449T. Additionally, they meet the UL frame temperature limit code T3B.
