The 3M™ Cubitron™ II fibre disc quick change 982C features a 5" diameter with TN ceramic grain and 80+ grit, designed for edge chamfering, beveling, and removing carbon steel welds, mill scale, pits, imperfections, and machining grooves. This fibre disc incorporates 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology using triangular, electrostatically oriented ceramic grains that form sharp peaks acting as individual cutting tools, which continuously self-sharpen as the points break off. This design enables the disc to cut efficiently with reduced friction heat, providing up to twice the life of other fiber discs and requiring less grinding pressure. The disc's vulcanized fibre backing is tough and stiff, resisting wear and suitable for heavy-duty applications such as weld removal, grinding, blending large and small metal areas, high-pressure grinding, and right angle grinding. Its primary applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, gate removal, grinding, weld removal, and finishing within metal fabrication industries.
