The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Fibre Disc Quick Change 987C features a 7" diameter with TN ceramic grain and a 60+ grit size, designed for use on almost all metals, particularly excelling in stainless steel and other nickel alloy applications. The disc is ideal for weld removal, beveling, and removing mill scale, pits, and other imperfections. It incorporates 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology that delivers an exceptionally high cut rate with less pressure, enabling faster task completion with reduced fatigue. A grinding aid is integrated to help keep the disc cooler when working on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, which reduces metal discoloration, oxidation, and the chance of heat-related stress cracks. The abrasive remains cooler and sharper longer than conventional ceramic grain discs, resulting in extended disc life and lower cost per grind with fewer disc changes. The 3M Precision Shaped Grain consists of triangular ceramic abrasive grains electrostatically oriented on the backing to form sharp peaks that slice cleanly and continuously self-sharpen, producing a super-fast cut and minimizing heat build-up.
