The 3M™ Cubitron™ II fibre disc quick change 982C features a 5" diameter with GL ceramic grain and 60+ grit, designed for edge chamfering, beveling, and removing carbon steel welds, mill scale, pits, imperfections, and machining grooves. Utilizing 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, the proprietary triangular shaped ceramic grains are electrostatically oriented on the vulcanized fiber backing to form sharp peaks that slice through metal and continuously self-sharpen as points break off, resulting in even wear and reduced heat due to friction. This extends disc life up to twice that of other fiber discs with less grinding pressure. The fiber disc's tough and stiff backing withstands heavy-duty weld removal, grinding, and blending of large and small metal surfaces. Key applications include edge beveling, edge chamfering, gate removal, grinding, high pressure grinding, right angle grinding, and weld removal and finishing in metal fabrication industries.
