A distinctive attribute of flap discs is their ability to typically generate a finish one grade finer than that of the disc's grading, which helps reduce the number of finishing steps required. The inclusion of a grinding aid minimizes temperatures during grinding, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. The giant size flap discs maintain the same diameter as standard flap discs but possess wider flaps, resulting in extra-thick layers packed with 25% more abrasive material for a more aggressive cut and longer lifespan.
