The unitized superstructure of this fume hood features a molded seamless fume chamber with all corners coved, constructed using flame retardant and chemical resistant composite resin that contains minimal metallic parts. The sash is made of 1/4" clear tempered safety glass, with a frame and track fabricated from chemical resistant PVC. It is equipped with a Varaflow baffle system to efficiently direct air through the fume chamber, with the baffle being easily removable for cleaning. The unit includes a vapor proof light fixture with a column-mounted light switch, and all electrical services are U.L. and C.S.A. listed, factory wired to a junction box. The hood is shipped completely assembled and requires a low flow constant volume (LCV) operation, eliminating the need for VAV controls, costly auxiliary air systems, and special integral supply fans. This design saves 50% or more in exhaust volume compared to conventional fume hoods and incorporates superior containment performance as part of the HEMCO line of Uniflow laboratory fume hoods. The fume hood meets the U.L. 1805 classification standards, which define specific requirements for laboratory fume hoods and cabinets, and the HEMCO test facility is compliant for testing fume hoods for U.L. 1805 classification.
