Product Details
The fast spiral drill bit is designed for high feed rate applications under low spindle speeds, where efficient removal of a large volume of chips is essential. This drill bit is specifically suited for drilling operations in low tensile strength and softer materials, which may complicate chip removal. Commonly drilled materials include softer ferrous metals and alloys, such as soft steels and soft cast iron, as well as non-ferrous metals and alloys like aluminum, magnesium, copper, and zinc alloys. The drill features a right-hand (clockwise rotation) cutting direction, a standard two-flute design with wider flutes, a fast spiral, and high helix angle, with a helix angle ranging from 34° to 40°. The straight shanks correspond to the drill diameter, while the length of each drill is variable based on the specific diameter, ensuring an optimal balance between overall drill rigidity and depth capacity. The technical specifications include manufacturing from high-speed steel, precision ground flutes, cylindrically ground construction, a general-purpose design for soft materials, a 118° point angle, standard web thickness, and a bright finish. Lubricating or cutting oils, or the appropriate coolant fluids, are recommended to achieve optimal performance and extend tool life.
