Product Details
The fast spiral drill bit is designed for high feed rate applications at low spindle speeds, facilitating the removal of large volumes of chips while drilling soft materials such as aluminum. It is particularly effective for operations involving low tensile strength, softer materials that may complicate chip removal, including softer ferrous metals and alloys like soft steels and soft cast iron, as well as soft non-ferrous metals and alloys such as aluminum, magnesium, copper, and zinc alloys. The drill features a right-hand (clockwise rotation) cutting direction, a standard two-flute design with wider flutes, and fast spiral, high helix flutes with a helix angle ranging from 34° to 40°. The straight shanks correspond to the drill diameter, and the length of each drill varies according to the specific diameter, ensuring a balance between overall rigidity and depth capacity. Manufactured from high-speed steel, these drills boast precision ground flutes, cylindrically ground construction, and are classified as general-purpose drills for soft materials with a 118° point angle and standard web thickness, all finished with a bright finish. Lubricating or cutting oils or appropriate coolant fluids are recommended for optimal performance and tool life.
