The Edwards F-DACT optional DACT/dialer is a multifunction communications module that offers robust capabilities, including support for two receivers with two phone numbers each, and can function as a modem. It features programming through front panel controls or a PC with appropriate software. The primary function of the DACT is to serve as a digital alarm communicator transmitter, which transmits event messages to a digital alarm communicator receiver at a monitoring facility, ensuring that the fire department and other responsible parties are notified of any incidents. The module supports programmable options for single or dual reporting to two DACRs and facilitates connection to local and remote computers for the uploading and downloading of configuration data, panel status, and event history. For enhanced security, the modem can allow programming via incoming calls or require preprogrammed numbers for downloads and uploads. The DACT can operate as a multifunction device or be configured solely as an LCD display, an LCD display with modem functionality, or just as a modem. It is important to note that the F-DACT is not compatible with one zone fire alarm panels; an appropriate panel with three or more zones must be purchased for its use.
