The Edwards Cat. No. 278B series non-coded fire alarm stations are contemporary styled Lexan stations designed for a variety of application requirements and operational sequences. The Cat. No. 278B-1120 is a double action station equipped with terminals for field wiring connections, featuring a single pole, open circuit design and a key-operated reset mechanism. In installations where a manual station is used in conjunction with smoke detectors, a resistor can be added in series with the alarm initiating contacts to ensure that the operation of the station does not extinguish the alarm LEDs on operated detectors. For semi-flush mounting, a standard North American 4 inch square box with a single gang plaster cover and an overall minimum depth of 2 1/4 inches (57 mm) is required, while for surface mounting, a Cat. No. 276B-RSB surface back box is recommended.
