The Morse® hand drum hand pump is designed for use with several types of liquids, including chlorinated solvents, acids, and aromatics, with a viscosity handling capacity of up to 2000 SSU. It provides a controlled discharge rate of approximately 1 quart (0.95 liter) per complete forward and backward cycle at 10 PSI over a height of 24 feet (7.3 m). This pump is compatible with the NPT (National Pipe Thread) of 2" (5 cm) bung openings on 55-gallon (208 liter) and 30-gallon (114 liter) steel drums, and adaptors are available for 2" (5 cm) buttress thread bungs on plastic barrels. It features a suction lift tested for a minimum of 15 feet (4.6 m) and a discharge head capability of up to 25 feet (7.3 m), with an output head pressure reaching up to 10.83 PSI. The pump includes a 1" (2.54 cm) NPT suction tube and a 3/4" (1.9 cm) NPT discharge tube, as well as a two-position handle that can be mounted above or below the drum for operational convenience. The self-lubricating polytetrafluoroethylene piston ring allows for operation in wet or dry conditions and is chemically compatible with liquids up to 120° F (49° C). The Morse model 28-5BV drum/barrel pump is effective for liquids within a mild acidity/alkalinity range of pH 4 to 9, while stronger acids and caustics should be avoided.
