This premium quality flat boring bit is constructed from heat-treated high carbon steel, ensuring that the drill point and cutting edge can be resharpened for cost savings and long life. It effectively bores clean, fast holes in wood, plastic, plywood, and Formica. The bit features a drilling depth of 6 inches but is compatible with a 12-inch extension (48-28-3350) for extended deep-hole drilling. The design includes double wing spurs that reduce vibration while facilitating easy hole formation. A patented cutting edge allows for easier and faster wood boring compared to conventional models, while the cutting edge efficiently removes chips. The bit is equipped with a 1/4'' quick change hex shank, making it suitable for use with all universal Quik Lok extensions. The shank diameter is 3/16 in.
